About Dead Monkey Design Studio
I'm James Schneider, founder and creative director of Dead Monkey Design Studio.
I started Dead Monkey for brands that would rather be remembered than played safe. The studio makes brand identities, websites and motion, and designs them together, so a logo, a homepage and a five-second loop all sound like the same brand.
Every project runs the same way. We dig until we find something true about your brand, kill the safe ideas, build everything to speak one language, then launch it and keep it alive.
01Who we build for
Gyms, local businesses, cities
Gyms and fitness
Gyms, training facilities, fitness programs and the communities around them. Sites that sell memberships and brands people want on a shirt.
Local businesses
Shops, practices, restaurants and services across Springfield and Joplin that need to be found in search and chosen once they are.
Cities and agencies
Municipal and public-sector websites built to WCAG 2.1 AA, where residents find what they need in a few taps and staff keep it current.
02Services
What we make
Web design
Custom WordPress sites that load fast, read well on any phone and are built so your team can update them without a developer.
Branding
Logos, type, color, voice and the guidelines to keep them straight. Identities built to be remembered, not just recognized.
SEO
Site audits, local search setup, keyword research and content that answers what people nearby are already searching for.
Motion
Logo animation, social loops and short product films that give a brand a heartbeat on every screen.
03Process
Four steps. No fluff.
Dig
We dig into your brand, your audience and your rivals until we hit something true.
Kill
Safe ideas die first. What survives is sharp, a little strange and impossible to ignore.
Build
Identity, website and search, made together so every touchpoint speaks the same language.
Launch
We ship it, measure it and keep it alive long after launch day.
